Footnotes from the Middle is an independent publication launched by K. Yousif in May 2026. The publication presents views from the middle: midlife, the Midwest, and the daily events, places, and people that often fall outside of the headlines. The goal of Footnotes from the Middle is to publish one long-form article a month, drawing on research and interviews, in an effort to record the middle all around us.
